POINT LOBOS SEA POEM
FOR MATT’S 42nd BIRTHDAY
SAN FRANCISCO
Taking the 38 Geary Fort
Miley and getting off
at Point Lobos cliff
The Great Highway begins
I think of you within the stunning
play of light crisscrossing
my breath water
imparts information
from the spirit world
encasing our bodies
other women greet thee
kiss thy hands
touch thy mind
other men greet me
we greet everybody
you get upwind
light a cigarette
the gold from your eye
enters my groin
my spleen
my eardrums, my tongue
out of a depth of sweetness
the warning signs
where some California poet
has put brown tape over the
word “BEEN” & the
“S” in the word “SWEPT”
Eugenia & Mary Elizabeth
delightedly read “MANY PEOPLE
HAVE BEEN SWEPT FROM THESE
ROCKSl” Oh best beloved whom I
watched in handcuffs move down the steps I will not enter Paradise unless you are included “there is only eternity” “until forever” and I am your wife Miriam MYR YAM bitter water bitter sea de Ternura- -
out of- a- depth of sweetness
rebellion
