GREEN LAWN CEMETERY
Sunday morning Mother’s Day
Traveling down El Camino Real
Heading south towards
The cemetery
The silence choked-up chained
Like a dog to a post
Tears well up
Threaten to break loose
Like a weakened dam Stretched
Out across the delta
Like a long thin line of plazma
Substituting for the bleeding
Of the heart
