PEOPLE’S THEATER

As my age was tender
with a red rose
smile and kiss,
goes to Lotte Lenya
back stage
was not a near miss

she was all the rage
of the critics
without any guile
amid Brecht,Ensler
and Kurt Weill,

It’s the time
when McCarthy dates
his high crimes
of fascism in the States,

here’s a drama of exile
moves like a wandering Jew
in Ahasverus’ style
who takes his grammar’s cue,

hoping for the state
to wither away
Stalin offers us
to wait another day,

yet I still remember
Lotte’s musical lines
it seems the world
only dulls their blinds.
