Have been reading Mr Baatz' s poetry for years, first l noticed that Ronald is beautifully not present in many of his poems, his observation of life is digested, pared down and put out with as much reality as he can make palatable to himself and his readers, and sometimes there just damn fun.but always real.

Just came across this. What a terrific aural history, not to mention the poetry! I remember talking with Robert Creeley for a couple of hours in 1969, he was a sweetheart.

Well, a few years have now gone by. My anger at what happened, above, has largely cooled. The staff at the Commission have changed, as has the Premier (it was rather over the top for me to ask people to email him in what was an internal departmental kinda matter.) In hindsight, I was angry back then at what was happening, as above, but also tired of investigating people for a living.
So at this point I wish no one, including anyone mentioned above, ill will. Let us all get on with our lives, this piece of the past is not worth more effort.
As to taking this piece down, I considered that, but it is a part of history, and it is important never to deny history, even the history you would like to change.

I like it . But in a deep meaning, Eventually most of the people will feel difficulty being both.
But after you overcome, you can be both.

Good stuff A.D., a poignant ramble through the years, so thanks for the memories from a long gone Frisco expat. Breen's indeed; whatever did they do with that fabulous long bar?

I especially love the first and third poems. So true, our fantasies about those past loves....they're forever young.

I just don't see old Buk that way. I don't see him drinking "Hard Finnish vodka?" I picture him in his wine-stained cigarette-hole ridden boxer shorts. Does the feminine blond mean he was bisexual? I think the cult of Bukowski has gotten way too big for his britches and he wouldn't have wanted any of this.
