SERENADE TO YOUTH

The rain fell softly on empty streets
A streak runs silent across a half-lit window
The lights are dimmed, the mood is right

The dreams we made, were strung
Upon the wall, go further, landscape
Stretching out beyond the valley
Windswept memory, kept hidden inside
For too long, seemed as though we made it
All the while waiting for the morrow
Longing for the day we never had
In silence, the moment realized too late
A time in passing, then memory drifting
Upon silent wings, calling to futures

What solitude brings, together
We had danced to music, which faded
softly, while I held you, in my arms
