Breakfast by Mark Weber

break

Breakfast

on the stove cooking
are beans, eggs and grits
in their seperate pots
before me

pepper the eggs
put bread in toaster
pour milk
steam up the grits
and turn the 2 eggs over

lay it all out
on a plate
and sit quietly
at the table

Poem taken from Blank Gun Silencer edited by Dan Nielsen, 1991
