Blankets of Misery
Blankets of misery
heaped on my head.
The icy fingers of winter
grabbed at my throat.
Shards of hot coal
fell from the sky.
The soles of my feet
were scorched.
I woke up in a sweat.
Nightmares are like that.

I have been writing since the age of twelve and have had two books of poetry published. My poems have appeared in journals, magazines, newspapers and online blogs. I also like to draw and paint in my spare time.
