Flying Saucer
A flying saucer touched
down last night and my
first thought was – Great,
the neighbors are moving.
The new inhabitants started
unloading their bedroom
suit, which looked right off
the shelf.
The cable company arrived
and screwed up my service
all damn afternoon.
They have a little dog.
Of course, it won’t stop barking.
When I first saw the shiny
surface of silver floating
over, I had hope. Maybe this time
I will find a neighbor I like.
I will learn his/her name, we
will casually wave. They will
leave me alone. I’m starting to wonder
if it’s all the same, no matter
where they’re from.
