Metamorphosis by Angelica Fuse

boy

Metamorphosis

a boy sits
on a branch
perfecting still
for one hundred
years

until a crack
appears at forehead
then down to ankle

the casing spreads
open
as a beautiful
large butterfly
emerges to fly.
