Chasm by Ann Christine Tabaka

CHASM

A sprawling chasm of doubt
stretches between reality and the unknown.
Those who eschew wisdom are doomed
to wander in the endless abyss of fear and loathing,
being swallowed in its darkness.

Those who open the door to knowledge
invite in a guiding light to help transverse
the uncertain landscape.

Many obstacles lie before the traveler.
The valley is deep and filled with hidden dangers.
Rage echoing back from its steep walls.

Some will fall off the edge and tumble into
the depths of despair where the wall of
ignorance blocks the only escape route,
and where seeking the truth is the key
that opens the gate to freedom.
