The Man Who Bought Pizza Every Day by Ricky Garni

THE MAN WHO BOUGHT PIZZA EVERY DAY

A man bought a pizza every day.
One day he didn’t buy a pizza.
And then he didn’t buy a pizza for ten more days.
And then the pizza store called the police and said HELP.

Perhaps he got tired of pizza, the police said.
No, they said. He would never get tired of pizza.

Maybe he went to Europe, they said.
No, they said. He wouldn’t go to Europe.
He likes to buy pizza.

Perhaps he moved, the police said.
No, they said. He wouldn’t move.
He loves pizza.

Perhaps he had a stroke, the police said.
Well, that’s possible, they said.

It was true. He had a stroke.
