Hey, See

Hey, puppet masters, see me…?
trifling human streak of human interference
in your inhumanity, a bouncing back
and sideways visual echo in the dense
presidential mountains, a slick of volatile
afloat on your paraphernalia…
Hey, your eyes seem quite attuned to daytime
so here I am, obfuscating and messy,
trailing that old glory, glimpsing
a rehashed storyline for safer endings
spotting you at your nefarious,
me squinting into what was once
such a glorious dusk, such
splendidly flushed horizons. Hey…

Linda Stevenson is a poet/painter living in Melbourne Australia. Linda considers her poetry as part of her life; it has been a life-long habit, from childhood through to adolescence, adulthood and now into mature older age. In recent years her poems have been published in literature magazines in Australia, UK, USA and Canada. A chapbook “The Tipping Point” was also published in 2015.
