Lights On by Emmanuelle Rabu

LIGHTS ON

You called me once
My dearest
You became
My fatherest
Poisoned love apples
Made you confused
Breathless
Wordful
We know mirrors are fake
In my rewritten fairytale
But we need it that way
Snow White as a male
White beard
White hair
And myself
Begging you
To keep the lights on
In a mine of thoughts
Me as a female digger
Dusky dwarf at Word

    • I am glad you do, Henry… such a rich word with its three different spellings and a rich world to play with. Thank you for your reading of my poem and comment !
