The Madman of Coyote Island by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

The Madman of Coyote Island

(for John Patrick Robbins)

It is not often that you come across
such a good writer who also happens
to be an even better drinker,
but that is what they have with
the madman of coyote island,
seems some genius at the US department
of agriculture wildlife services decided it would be
a good idea to introduce coyote
into the native island population so that
once the coyote killed off
or ate all the other indigenous fare
there would be nothing left but this writer
stumbling home drunk from the bar
only to be devoured by a pack
of hungry coyotes.
