The Nightly Die-in by Adam Levon Brown

The Nightly Die-in

Phantasm nights give birth
to lonely days

The nightly die-ins
succumb to strangulation
in the same darkness
which speaks in words
dead-falling in shadowed
silence

There would be hope,
if hope could sing –

though my umber ears
are too blanketed in the snows
of trauma to grasp sounds
of dancing light
