Prisons and Gallows

I pledge allegiance to the Revolution
I hope to see. Pray to God it will come
by Spring. Remove the despot who
believes he is King, the man who is
responsible for all evil and despicable
things. To end the actions of his ICE and
murderous criminal ring. To jail his
cabinet and see them on trial. To bring
a close to the chapter he wrote. To
see his family in shackles and chains,
repay all they stole, make them recant
for the pain and suffering they brought
this land. Perhaps they will get life
in prison or beheaded by the guillotine.
Bring the justice for the billionaires and
rich who shared in his lies. Embezzlement,
Extortion, Bribery, and the numerous
crimes against humanity. He shall never
escape, and in this life, he and his cronies
should be made to pay. Raise a glass to all
who died, but not in vain. We have fought,
and we have cried. We have hoped, and we
have prayed; let us rejoice in this new day.

John Ganshaw

John Ganshaw graduated from NYU with a degree in Leadership Development. After a long career in banking, he retired to Cambodia. While living there, John saw the worst of ex-pats and the lasting damage of colonization. John learned that standing up and speaking out has consequences; he was arrested for speaking out against human trafficking, blackmail, and corruption. This led to John spending 13 months in prison and under house arrest. Innocence means less than nothing in a corrupt judicial system. John started writing in 2023 and has published over 100 works, most recently in Montreal Serai, Unapologetic, The Shallot, The Rappahannock, Empyrean, and Adelaide (2025 Poetry Competition Finalist). John writes in hopes that perhaps in some small way his words can bring truth, justice, and change to this fucked up world.
