Shotgun Music
Following a backwards god
With breath through a hole
In the sky
Like cultured pearl bullets
To the brain
We all want
The same things
But progress takes time
Living increases knowledge
But knowledge
Is a rare commodity
Cats and owls
Play deadly games here
Sometimes the owl wins
Sometimes the cat
Both fierce creatures
In their own rite
Take back the power
Carry on
With free insults
From shotgun music
And express trip tickets
To the flipside
Fresh flesh wounds
And cigarette burns
On old tan hides
Spinning tales
Of come and gone wars
And black hole blues
In this world
There are cats
And there are owls
But some have evolved
Into a combination
Of both
