Creation Myth by T.L. Kryss

Creation Myth

She fell asleep attached to her transistor radio
by an earplug
and once again I picked the crystal from her ear
and set it down beside her on the pillow
where it continued to give the false news,
weather reports, and top fifty tunes.

And the angel banished from the garden
(that’s me!, I thought)
turned around upon his winding path
and glittered toward your face
to see what he could learn about an apple
from the way your ears flew kites of smiles
and rapped with punk guitars.
