The moment …

really wanted us to be poetic
but we were only capable
of producing pedantic prose …
we parted forever without
ever knowing what the moment
had in mind for us –
if we were meant
to be creating metaphors
someone should’ve said something …

D.A. (David) Pratt considers himself an outsider within the society he has lived throughout his existence. He maintained an under-the-table interest in reading and writing while working for far too long for the Government of Saskatchewan in the field of taxation policy.
