Miles of outstretched psyche
void the final coupon,
gambled on for quarters

Maniacal mind-drift
molds the mood

for a penny whose
thoughts beg for change

Another hat-trick
mind-cracking
substance

Another drink
to mask the scars
hovering over bare arms

Excuses flap like stale
wind in the nascent eyes
of self-imposed decay
