Yet More Morning

My view encompasses
a square of window glass;
cloud banks interspersed
with silhouettes
tell morning’s broadcast
earlier than news,
well before
the shattering exclamations
of a hurt world
blare out.
It’s only dawn yet,
wan promises,
tinsel and rose
at the ready.
