Tiki Bar Blues
He sat at the small bar he built alone.
It was decorated perfectly every detail was to his liking.
Once it knew the sounds of friends laughter.
It knew life it held memories of what some would consider love.
He built it to be a place for friends then he realized they had either all died or were never friends to begin with.
He thought about ending it all but he just didn’t want to depart not seeing people here once more.
He mixed a drink and enjoyed the beauty of what looked like a jungle that surrounded him.
He could always escape within his mind and the voices in his head were far more friendly than the reality of the pricks in this life.
Bourbon was great company with some good music and a cool breeze.
Only a fool could not appreciate the scene.
The world was filled with fools.
But the bar was stocked and the day was long.
Here’s a toast to all those that appreciate a cool breeze and a strong drink.
It was far better to be at a Tiki alone.
Than stuck in a sea of assholes all day.
He wiped down the bar and left a dollar in the jar.
It was a investment into his happiness.
A wasted day can be such a beautiful scene.
Cheers.
a day wasted is never wasted….thanks
