Don’t Say Nothing by Gwil James Thomas

Don’t Say Nothing

Fuck that shit –
let us hold onto
this moment
with all its ripe,

Don’t say nothing
and take my hand,
as night swallows day
across these rolling hills.

Let me hold you and
do my stupid dance
one last time.

It’s “complicated”
and I’m not in denial –
I know that our paths
can’t cross again.

I know too,
that tomorrow
you’ll be a thousand miles away
and I’ll be right here.

Let us savour this,
because in the end –
this moment
and one another
is all we’ve
ever truly
